Matisse Radical Invention : 1913-1917 Art Institute of Chicago, Musuem of Modern Art, New York
For the book and exhibition Matisse:Radical Invention 1913-1917 we worked with Lynda Zycherman from MoMA New York on a study of Matisse's Back. Back consists of 4 lifesized bas-relief sculptues that Matisse worked on over the course of 20+ years, casting the sculpture 4 times during that period. co-organized bythe Art Institute Chicago and The Museum of Modern Art, New York
The scanning took place in the conservation lab at The Museum of Modern Art, New York. Lynda Zycherman was aware of common features in the sculptures that linked the four sculptures together. With her help, we were able to align the models in their common coodinate system to analyze and animate the results.
